RIDE DESCRIPTION
A varied and interesting ride, fairly strenuous but with not much in the way of technical difficulties.
Travel out of Pateley up Nidderdale for a mile before turning left towards the caravan park and track on Ashfold Side to the stepped descent to the bridge over the stream and the Lead Mines. From here we tackle a stiff climb to a track that takes you back on the far side, turning right to eventually regain the road to Cold Stone Cut at Greenhow.
Descend on the road past Stump Cross Caverns (possible tea and cake stop) and then head left off road on bridleways and tracks over Pock Stones Moor. At the next road we turn left over the river, turning left on the B road for a short while before turning right over boggy moor and tracks to the road above Bewerley and into Pateley Bridge.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Suitable clothing including wet weather protection and a spare warm layer, spare inner tubes / patches, chain links, lube, enough food and water for the duration of the ride
