It’s a long and boggy slog up to the crag, and the lichenous bloom and heathery ledges makes Deer Gallows a less than inspiring destination nowadays. Nonetheless, a gallant five of us did what we could to honour the CMC’s reputation. Climbs include Left-hand Route (VD); Deer Gallows Chimney (VD); Wreath (VS) and Zig-Zag (MVS)
Another great summer’s evening on Yorkshire limestone with ten CMCers experiencing some of the crag’s best offerings. Fretsaw (HVD*), Cold Feet (VD), Supreme White (S*), Evening Star (S***), Breakaway (HS**), Thornton Cracks (VS**) and Priority (VS**)
In warm sunshine and with enough breeze to keep the midges at bay our haul for the evening included Crossover (HS**); Calamity Groove (HVD); Sunshine Superman (VS**); Kestrel Groove (HS**) and Kayak (VS*).
Glastonbury rocked as six of us headlined at Moughton with some lesser known numbers. Weasel Crack (5a); Stoatal Recall (5c); Merlin (5c*), Camelot (6a**); Thieving Magpie (5b**); Birthday Girl LH (6a*). Pickle represented our adoring fan.
A sunny Saturday offered up dry if somewhat polished limestone. Ash Tree Corner (VD), Addiction (VS**), Sidestepper (VS) and Nivana (VS**) amongst others.
