Brimham Rocks
Brimham Rocks is on the moor just to the east of Nidderdale, four miles from Pateley Bridge off B6265 and is an immensely popular tourist attraction owing to the amazing rock formations. This Gritstone labyrinth offers a wide variety of routes from diffs to Es but be aware that some free standing blocks offer a challenge to descend so some previous knowledge can be very valuable.
This confusing array of gritstone blocks, towers and buttresses, threaded by myriad paths has confused many climber and the chances of getting completely lost are very real. Owls occasionally nest in the Pig Traverse Area (they have nested 2022). Signage will be posted.
