Hi
Dennis is giving a potted history talk of the development of climbing in West Yorkshire at the Central Library in Leeds on Tuesday 27th November.
He says:-
The bar opens at 5.30pm, talk commences at 6.00pm.
It will be free to attend, but in order for the Library staff to estimate the attendance, they politely request that tickets be booked in advance via:
https//www.ticketssource.couk/whats-on/leeds/leeds-central-library-third-floor-leodis-room/climbing-in-west-yorkshire-a-history
If that does not work go on the Leeds Central Library web site and click on events.
In researching this subject, one has to come to a view of how key these developments have been in the overall
story of British and even international climbing. And what a galaxy of ‘stars’ have emerged from our Broad Acres,
Slingsby, Botterill, Frankland, Dolphin, Austin, Livesey, Fawcett etc……. Time will of necessity be limited but I will
try to put this story into context, whilst not forgetting the impact of the original Leeds University Wall. Constructed in 1964….
Please put the word out about this event to a wider audience. All will be welcome.
