Eight of us spent a lovely sunny weekend at a hut in the Coppermines Valley, Coniston. Welcome to prospective member Michael who climbed ‘C’ Ordinary Route with Dick on Saturday. After refreshments in Chapel Stile, Sylvia and John trundled back over the fells to the hut while Chris and I headed to White Crag (previously known as Far West Raven Crag) in Langdale for some single pitch routes on lovely rock. Barbara, Paul and Bruce walked a circuit of Coniston Fells taking in Levers Water, Prison Band, Swirl How and the Old Man. Our communal meal, prepared under the watchful eye of head chef Sylvia was, as always, a ‘feast’ to be reckoned with, and all finished off after a group walk on Sunday. A great weekend – thank you to all who joined in.
