Craven Mountaineering Club was established in 1978 and cater for a wide range of abilities and interests such as rock climbing, walking, scrambling and mountain biking. We have weekly local meets as well as hut meets further afield throughout the year.
Membership is open to anyone over 18 years old with an interest in climbing, walking and mountain activities.
Craven Mountaineering Club is a BMC affiliated club and joining the club gives you BMC membership as a club member.
For those wanting to climb with us
New members who want to climb rock routes need to be able to put on a harness, tie into the rope and belay safely. If you can’t do this already then local climbing walls offer suitable introductory course.

How to join
To join us, please fill out the registration form below. Once we receive the form our new members secretary will contact you to tell you more about the club and answer any questions you may have. We ask you to attend as a prospective member first so you can get to know the club and its members.
The membership process:
· You will become a prospective member after attending your first meet
· You can apply for full membership after attending 3 meets
· The first 3 months (starting from the date of your first meet) is free.
· If after 3 months you have not been able to attend 3 meets and apply for full membership that is no problem, but we do require you to pay the BMC part of your membership fee. You can continue as a prospective member until you have attended 3 meets and applied for full membership.
