Meets Calendar

The proposed trip will be on the River Lune from Devils Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale to The Crook o’ Lune, Caton. In the right conditions this is a good day’s paddle which is suitable for all abilities.

The route itself can get shallow and rocky if the water level is low (probably not an issue at this time of year). If it is low the route may not be appropriate for paddleboard or inflatables unless the owners are comfortable with hopping off when the going gets tough to avoid punctures. Loads of curving river channels and two small weirs that may need portage depending on water levels.

We’ll leave a car or two at the finish so we can ferry people back to the start, but once we know numbers we can plan the logistics. Plan for a day’s paddle. If you are interested let me know and we can create a group for activity.

Some of us have double kayaks or spare singles if someone wants to come along who doesn’t have their own craft. However, if demand exceeds capacity we might not be able to accommodate everyone.
