A Circuit of Ilkley Moor (CMC/YMC Joint Club Walk)

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
26/07/2026

A Circuit of Ilkley Moor (CMC/YMC Joint Club Walk)

To be more accurate, we shall make a circuit of parts of Rombalds Moor, incorporating Ilkley Moor, Addingham, Moor, and Burley Moor.
Starting from the Cow and Calf car park, we'll make out way up through/past the quarry, down Rocky Valley, and then follow the north edge of the moor westwards to Windgate Nick.
We'll then turn eastwards and walk along the crest of the high ground until we're above Burley Woodhead. Turning north and then back westward we return to our starting point, where the café and possibly the pub, should be waiting.

Points of interest include the Swastika Stone, one of Simon Armitage's Stanza Stones, and the Twelve Apostles.

This being Ilkley Moor, do not come "baht 'at", though whether you'll need a sun'at or a warm'at remains to be seen.

Starting point: Meet at Cow and Calf car park (Grid Ref: 131467; What3Words: formation.overheat.politics

Start time: 10.00
Distance: Between 10 and 11miles (with around 1500ft of ascent depending on the exact route.
