Personal Responsibility
CMC activities involve an inherent risk of injury or death to both you and others. By taking part, you acknowledge and accept these risks and take responsibility for your own decisions, actions and participation.
Activity Guidelines
CMC offers a wide range of activities, from indoor climbing and local walks to winter mountaineering, Alpine hiking, mountain biking and other mountain sports. While the club provides opportunities for members to take part in these activities, it does not directly provide expertise or instruction.
When participating in any CMC activity:
- Take part only in activities that match your experience, skills and fitness.
- Understand the risks associated with the activity.
- Be honest about your abilities and limitations.
- Make sure your climbing partner, teammates or group coordinator understand your experience and any limitations that may affect the activity.
- Take the time to understand the abilities and limitations of your climbing partner or others in your group.
- Communicate clearly and openly throughout the activity.
- Recognise that your decisions can affect the safety and enjoyment of others.
- If something doesn’t feel right, speak up.
