Please can members be aware that posts and events are by default made available to all members of the public for viewing. It is strongly recommended that you DO NOT put telephone numbers in any posts or when adding events. They are also published to the clubs Facebook and Twitter feeds automatically. You can change this if you wish (see below).
Please don’t restrict a post to members only unless you really have to. The club would far prefer that the website looks active as this can help encourage new members.
Here’s how to make sure only members can see your posts
Restricting Access – You can prevent non-members from viewing a post and all associated comments by choosing the options shown. Please make sure you remove the published to Facebook as well or its kind of pointless doing so! By default all visitors can see posts and their associated comments.
If you scroll down a page you can see the content permissions. You probably only need to select member. (committee and administrators are members anyway)
Selecting all permissions does not make it visible to everyone – that is done by having no-one selected (default).
You can’t put permissions on individual comments. Comments follow the permissions of the associated posts.
You may notice the option to make a post private. This may do more than you wish so its recommended to use the permissions above.
