The meet will start at the unmade car park (no charge) opposite the Helwith Bridge Inn although there is some on-street car parking in the vicinity should the car park be busy.
The route will be an anti-clockwise route of about 15.2k (9.5 miles) taking in about 486m (1,592ft) of ascent.
The proposed route which may change on the day is to follow the Long Lane track north to join with the Pennine Way up the southern ridge of Penyghent to the summit trig point. Descending west we’ll follow the well worn ‘3 Peaks’ route for a time before heading south west to Horton where we’ll join the riverside path by the River Ribble back to the start point.
Please take a packed lunch and adequate clothing and footwear for the weather conditions.
Refreshments afterwards at the Helwith Bridge Inn – www.helwithbridgeinn.co.uk
