Route:          About 15.5k (9.5 miles) & 705m (2,312ft) of ascent.
Note:            Please take a packed lunch, appropriate footwear and waterproofs for the weather forecast.

The route takes an anti-clockwise direction heading out towards the banking below Heptonstall. Skirting around Lumbs Bank, and contouring round to the top of the short valley where the stream starts to feed down to the weirs and eventually to the canal and river.

Picking up the Pennine way and heading South, eventually zig zagging down to the A646. Going past Mulcture Hall and crossing the Railway track, via the footbridge. Now we have a short walk down the A road before turning off left. Heading up the hill at Eastwood, and onto the top of Height Wood, passing by Middle Stoodley House. Working our way up through the fields we end up coming out onto the moors below Stoodley Pike. Our aim now is to work our way up to the monument and enjoy the view while taking refreshments.

The return back to Hebden Bridge takes us on two options either way we head across the moors and either down Dick’s Lane to Pinnacle Lane. Eventually dropping through the woods at Fairfield crossing the river on to the canal towpath, alternatively turning off Dicks Lane onto Erringdon Moor, Broad Head and down to Daisy Bank. We end up again at the woods near Fairfield again and to the same finish as previously described. Now back in Hebden Bridge, we can head for the selected hostelry.

Note: Please take appropriate footwear and waterproofs for the weather forecast along with a packed lunch.
