Robin Proctor Scar
5th June 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Robin Proctor Scar, formerly known Norber Scar, has been extensively cleaned and bolted as a sport crag. The better routes at are as good as they get at the grade in the local area and worth travelling further for. The view from the crag is one of the best in the Dales and the quick drying nature of the rock and sunny aspect ensures the Scar’s popularity.
Approach
From the A65, take the turn-off for Clapham and head into the village and at its center park a or along by the river on its RHS. Walk up the lane until a footpath on the right leads through a tunnel. Walk along the track bearing right at a turning and after few hundred meters a footpath and stile on the left is reached. The crag is very obvious from here. Walk across the field and up the short scree slope.
A shorter approach is to drive up from Austwick just by the school. Park with consideration at the the track junction at the top of the hill which is followed westwards towards Clapham to meet the aforementioned path,on your right from this direction.
Adjourn to the New Inn at Clapham as the Game Cock is closed on a Tuesday
