Well, I’m sure anyone based in the U.K. can guess what happened to us last night!
We rocked up at the quarry to find a slack line up and a bunch of kids top roping the easier routes so we tootled off to Rocky Valley….
The climbing was good, Steve and I made a cracking attempt on Flake Climb (S) and 3 Slab route was climbed a few times. Tim and Brian found a classic gritstone chimney to play in and we were a happy bunch of 8 climbers…… then I checked my phone and found some messages from a worried hubby checking we were ok??? What was he on about the weather was humid but lovely…… then we started seeing flashes of lightening in the distance.
The rest I will let you imagine but I guarantee…. it was worse!
But we all got down safe, had a beer and we all managed at least one route so happy days, all good fun 😀

little did we know as we wandered over to Rocky Valley earlier in the evening our return would be in the dark, torrential rain, and lightning. ….oh and with 2 prospective members!! We did tell them that’s it’s not like this every week.
