Hudscales Barn, Hesketh Newmarket – 11/13 October
11th October 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 13th October 2019 @ 5:00 pm
We have places booked in this barn on the very norther edge of the Lakedistrict Fells. It is one of those areas where you can walk for miles over the fells and meet few people. There is unusual walking out on the Limestone Plateau to the East. Spectacular views abound of the higher hills to the south, Scotland and the Solway to the north and the Pennines to the east. It is an area suitable for both road cycling and off road biking. There are several crags with unusual features including the Gabbro crags of Carrock Fell and the Limestone to the east and north.
After the days outing or in the evening the nearby Pub at Hesketh Newmarket (the first cooperative pub and brewery) is most welcoming and sociable.
The Barn appears a bit more basic than we usually use, but there is a shower, toilet, wood burning stove, kettle, toaster and mattresses to put on the floor. I will take a double gas burner and pans etc. and we can discuss whether to have a communal meal or perhaps eat in the pub?
Cost for the weekend will be £24 and bookings are open for all as of now.
