February 20th Talk 8pm. The Gouffre Berger 2019 expedition.
20th February 2020 @ 8:00 pm
8pm Cavendish Arms, Embsay
In 2019 Adrian Pilling was part of an expedition to descend the Gouffre Berger cave system in the Vercors region of France.
Discovered in 1953 this cave system was thought to be the deepest in the world at 1122 metres.
Most people take 2-3 days on the descent with intermediate camps being needed, so its a massive undertaking.
Adrian is a very experienced caver and his talk will include some great images, insights and specialised kit.
Gouffre Berger social- will be at the Cavendish, Embsay 8.00pm.
Adrian is planning a multi media presentation, referencing the GB trip to caving in the Dales .
Should be good.

This social could be a good opportunity for any new or prospective members to meet up with other Club members. You are all welcome.

It was a good evening. Several people are interested in Adrian’s offer to run a caving trip for us. I am happy to contact him to get his ideas on dates and cave.
I can’t respond to the whats app messages just now, as my smartphone has become a dumb phone, so I will post info here.
