A select band of two CMC members, one guest and a dog met up at Ash Tree Wall and were rewarded with warm sunshine and no wind below the crag top. The lack of wind had a downside though as the rock was a bit greasy on the faces and damp in the cracks.
Steve Wilson and his daughter paid us a visit – hope the op on your knee goes well Steve – while we tackled Bilberry Crack, Ash Tree Crack and Twin Cracks. We then moved on to The Sentinel area where Ring Climb and Ringo were led and I did my share of top-rope dogging on Ring Piece – well it does have a UK technical grade of 6a so it was only to be expected.
Tony left at this point as Andy finished proceedings with an ascent of Still Orange on Hollyash Wall. Let’s hope we get plenty more of this lovely weather as Spring progresses.
