Saturday dawned clear in the Lakes, after rain and gales on friday.
Three of us had a good walk in the dry, with great views. Our route went via Bowscale tarn ( a popular Victorian beauty spot) and then on to Blencathra via open walking on the fell. This approach is very quiet and it wasn’t until we were near the summit that it got busy. After a lunch with fab views we descended Scales fell with a good view to Scales tarn and Sharp Edge. After that it as a romp over Souther fell and then down for drinks and cake at the Mill Inn. A grand day out, !
