Smithy Hut , Thirlmere

This hut is owned by the Gritstone Club and is one we’ve visited previously. Kitchen is large and well equipped and lounge area is comfortable for sociable gatherings. It’s handy for climbing on Castle rock or popping round to Borrowdale and for approaching Hellvelyn from the west. Bookings are open for members on September 1st and prospective members from October 1st. Cost - £18
