The photo is Scafell Pike not long after sun rise which shone on us all day,Sunday mornings weather was cloudy and windy, with no chance of climbing so we packed up and came home.

Hope everyone else got out over the week end.

Gordale Scar Boxing day

Pete gave us a bell on Christmas day and said Gordale Scar was in condition so Boxing day thats where we ended up for about four hours. It was great to see it in full winter conditions when we are used to seeing it gushing with water.

Who knows when it will be in condition again? At least we can say we climbed it with ice axes and crampons in years to come and show the photos.

Step Gully/Pendulum Gully

After a 5.30 am start we set off to Link Cove, the conditions are not just there yet but we had a great day climbing Step Gully and Pendulum Gully. Andy and Tony had a go at Juniper Crack at grade v but everthing felt harder in the conditons. We all met at the bottom of the crag and walked in the dark (no change ther for A.W and T.W) So another cracking days winter climbing.

Aonach Dubh

Hi All just got back from Glencoe where we climbed No 6 Gully on Aonach Dubh west face on plenty of good ice,a cracking route climbed on a good day (Saturday)if anyone decides to do it take the right hand exit its a shorter descent.

Cairngorms

Myself,Pete & Chris had an eventful weekend in Scotland,we had to contend with all types of weather including snow. The aim was to do Squareface & Mitre ridge after topping out on the latter on Saturday we left Squareface for Sunday,I managed to get up the first pitch in slimey wet verglassed conditions but we decided to abb off for saftey reasons. After walking a couple of miles and cycling another ten miles with full packs we arrived at Tomintoul (Knackered). Squareface now goes onto the unfinished business list for next time. Cheers Mark
